(defended beautifully by Eileen Winnington-Ball of the Hypatia Book Club) followed closely by Sylvanus Now (defended convincingly by Rachel Hickling).

Karen Connelly, author of The Lizard Cage and Neil Pasricha author of The Book of Awesome will be headlining Books and Authors night during The Celebration of the Arts in September. Mark your calendar for this event and look for further details in the coming months.
Uxbridge Reads! Winner Announced
In a very close race, the winner of Uxbridge Reads! was decided February 17, 2010 in council chambers. Joseph Boyden’s Three Day Road, championed by book club member Janet Broder nudged out Lawrence Hill’s Book of Negroes in a spirited session. The challenge is on!
First group to take on the challenge to read the winner was the entire staff of Uxbridge Town Talks — way to go girls! Who’s next?

The unpretentious atmosphere of Blue Heron Books with its comfy chairs, wood shelving and creaky floors lends itself to a long slow, browsing session, but under that sleepy atmosphere vibrates a strong pulse. The store has a quaint, old-fashioned look with an up tempo vibe, because there is always something happening.
