Will McGuirk grew up in a country that so far has given the world FOUR Nobel laureates for Literature. At 19 he moved to Canada and now resides in Oshawa. He is married with three sons, two cats and one first edition of Yann Martel’s “Life of Pi”. He is a journalist. For almost three decades he has been writing about Canadian arts, culture and music and been published in Metroland, Metro and The Star. His current project is, a website for people not in the fast lane and Wunderlit, a literary and arts magazine.
Sue strives to put the right book in the right hand. She adores junior fiction and YA books, and she always has a review to share. If you're lucky, you may stumble into the store during one of Sue's famous staff story times, when she reads her newest favourite picture book to wide-eyed staff members.

Bookkeeper extraordinaire and general organizational goddess for many years. When not tallying columns in the back, Joy enjoys first-rate crime stories, anything to do with horses, pop culture, music and good food porn (a.k.a. cookbooks). Resident egg lady and beekeeper!
Cathy loves to read historical fiction and children's books -- especially picture books with her grandchildren.  And YOUR children if you visit for Cathy's fabulous weekly storytime!
Scarlett is our student bookseller on a global journey to read books that take place all around the world! She enjoys reading biographies, young adult fiction and we can always count on her to have some inspiring music playing in the store!
Kathleen is a super addition to the Blue Heron student roster! She is in grade 10 at USS, and can always be found with a book in one hand and a snack in the other. Go to Kathleen and she’ll put a great YA or junior fic in your hands!
